When looking for how to find things out under Windows, it is a good idea to
start by looking in the Windows help file, win32.hlp. The following are from
that help.

Number of disks: GetLogicalDrives or GetLogicalDriveStrings
Free space: GetDiskFreeSpaceEx
Volume name, serial number, system operation flags, etc:
GetVolumeInformation
Listing some devices: QueryDosDevice

Other items can be found using I/O Control. For instance an array of
DISK_GEOMETRY structures are returned by a call to DeviceIoControl with a
calling argument of IOCTL_DISK_GET_DRIVE_GEOMETRY

Getting the CPU type and speed are not trivial tasks and are beyond what I
am prepared to put in this message. You might try a web search,
http://www.google.com and might also try looking on the MS Developer's
Network site: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp
