Hi I already posted this question on ms_compatibility, but Alex from TeamB suggested posting here instead, hopefully this group will bring me more luck. I want to extract the name of my cdrom drive programmatically. I looked at WMI but the results are inconsistent from PC to PC. I also looked at the Setup API from windows, but can't seem to find a way to extract the name of the Cd drive. The Windows Device Manager has the name in it. "SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-612" Is there a way I can Programatically get this name? What API calls should I be looking at etc... Thanks for the help Marc
