By default the Task Manager tried to terminate the process gracefully first. If the process has any windows, then WM_CLOSE will be sent to them. If you are using VCL forms, that will cause the OnCloseQuery and OnClose events to trigger. If you set the CanClose parameter of the OnCloseQuery event to false, the termination wil be canceled. The TM only resorts to brute-force terminations when it absolutely has to,a nd not before then. Gambit
