Hi,

from the C++Builder documentation for TIcon:

<quote>
Note: TIcon can be used to display the value of a multi-resolution
(>16 color) icon. However, it can not support the creation of
multi-resolution icons, nor the resizing of the image after it is
loaded from a file or stream.
</quote>

I found a Visual C++ example project at MSDN which can handle all
formats. If you're interested, google for "msdn iconpro". Maybe you
can extract the relevant code from it.
Unfortunately one must download the full set of examples which is
about 131MB. If you like I can send you the project.

hth,
Nick
