this is off topic (i think) but i realized i was on the wrong track (for 
reasons that will be obvious)

what i need is when i click on a file in the file_explorer that file 
opens in a single instance of my prog. my prog is setup to keep an 
internal list of files selected. MSIE used to do this (till i screwed it 
up) and it seems to be related with the registery ( open with ) but i 
can't figure out how to do it. the comand line should provide the first 
file but how do i get the others???

any advice anyone?
