Greetings, I have installed a PCI expansion board that has provided new comm ports to my system. The Windows Device Manager lists these new ports as COM8, COM9, COM10 and COM11 after all the drivers are installed. While using the CreateFile() API function to connect to COM10 and above Windows returns an INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE. Connecting to COM9 is OK. Is there a limitation to the number of ports that the CreateFile() function will connect to? Any suggestions as to how to connect to ports with double or triple digits? Using: C++ Builder 6. Code Snip: hCom = CreateFile( CommPort.c_str(), GENERIC_READ | GENERIC_WRITE, 0, NULL, OPEN_EXISTING, 0, NULL ); if(hCom == INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE) "Throw an error here" Thank you for your time, Dale
