EUDY: OK, now I'm beginning to get it! On my applications in which the ArrowKeys worked, focus was in an Enabled EditBox. Form1->KeyPreview was set to true. When the application runs, the ArrowKeys are "previewed" by the form and actually do something in the FormKeyDown handler, but until you mentioned it I didn't notice that the Cursor also moves around in the EditBox. Since the EditBox is continually being updated by the code I wrote, the Cursor is returned to a default position in the EditBox every time the ArrowKeys are pressed. REMY: So going back to Remy's post, the Edit Control seems to pass a "hidden" Windows Message turning the ArrowKeys "on." I did look at FAQ78 and didn't understand it since it said NOT to write a Windows Message for the Form. So could you give me another hint? Does this mean that I need another control enabled (even if I don't use it directly) just in order to turn the ArrowKeys "on?" Thanks all for your patience... Nick
