The key to going beyond the tiny sample I posted is understanding the
various MIDI messages you can send (such as change instrument [on
channel c to instrument i] and note on [channel c, note n, velocity
v]). Timing is also very important for this kind of low level MIDI
output, _exactly_ when you send a message in relation to other
messages you send is significant.  I used the Sleep in my example to
achieve the duration of the note, but for many purposes it may be
better to use more complicated and accurate timing systems.
