can template params be used for properties?

I have the following code that cannot compile

template <typename Key, typename T>
class kvdmap
{
private:
    void setEntry(Key& k, T& t);
    T&   getEntry(Key& k);

public:
    kvdmap();                   //void constructor
    kvdmap(AnsiString name);    //initialized constructor
    __property T& Item[Key&] = {read = getEntry, write = setEntry};
};

Does this mean that template parameters can't be used in a property
declaration?

thanks for ANY and ALL help,

Brian
