Knowledge is not just about retaining facts in one's head.  It's also a
matter of simply knowing where to look for the answers when you don't
already have them on-hand.  In this case, I refer to the VCL source code, to
MSDN, to newsgroup archives, etc. when needed.  They contain much more
information then my otherwise short memory could ever hope to hold at a
time.

I'm a full-time software programmer by profession.  But the knowledge I
bring to these groups does not come from my job.  If anything, it comes from
my hobby instead - I'm also a hobbyist programmer :-)
