I'd think that it will write to standard memory, then the CPU will transfer 
it to the video card.

If you want to write directly to video memory, then Direct3D is probably the 
best way to go.

Use DrawDibDraw :-)

No problem :-) I had to go through this a while back when altering a video 
processing library to support thread-safe frame extraction and replacement.
