I want to find out if there is enough space on a harddisk-partition (FAT32 or NTFS) to copying some files into it. Before trying to implement it I tried out manually (in the dos-box) how much disk-space would go away if I create a new small file onto it by doing echo >f:\tst.txt hello I was (and am) a little confused, that the free space on this partition did not change at all. (I supposed at least the cluster-size would go away...) So my question: How can I find out how much of the free space of a drive f: would go away if I copy a file (from within a program) to it? Also how much of the free space of f: would go away if I create a directory on it? Thanks a lot, Michael
