This is what worked eventually. Thanks for your kind help:

Hide window:  
  SetWindowPos(....HWND_BOTTOM,......SWP_NOACTIVATE  );
    Form1->Visible=false;

Show window  .
 SetWindowPos(......HWND_TOPMOST......,SWP_NOACTIVATE  );
