Sorry, I found it. I had searched for an answer for two days,
but reading some threads again I suddenly found that I hadn't
noticed that functions called GetTabRect() and TabRect() were 
used here and there which were not explained further. And yes: 
TPageControl has this method TabRect() and the GetTabRect() 
function seems to be the API call used internally.
