Perhaps something like this...

	DWORD size,handle,vlen;
	size=GetFileVersionInfoSize(filename,&handle);

	char*buffer = malloc(size);
	GetFileVersionInfo(filename,handle,size,buffer);

	VS_FIXEDFILEINFO * versinfo;
	VerQueryValue(buffer,"\\",&versinfo,&vlen)
