You cannot pass a pointer across process boundaries.  The memory address of
the pointer in your process will not be a valid memory address in another
process.  The only way to make it work is to have your code execute in the
context of the other process.  To do that, you have to write a DLL and
"inject" it into the other process, such as by using a global hook via
SetWindowsHookEx().  In the case of IE specifically, you can alternatively
write a Browser Helper Object (BHO) instead, which has much more flexible
access to controlling and querying IE's data and GUI.
