The *only* difference between throwning an exception while inside the IDE
vs. outside is that the IDE sees all exceptions before the application does.
As far as exception handlers are concerned, there is no difference at all.
Once the IDE passes the exception back to the application, the exception is
handled in exactly the same manner as it would be if the IDE hadn't
intercepted the exception at all.
