My app is loaded during windows startup in the system tray (and does not show its main window). Most of the time this works just fine, but occasionally the app gets loaded but no system tray icon is created. It's hard to reproduce, but it does happen from time to time. Does anyone know why this is happening? As a work-around I was thinking about adding a retry mechanism for Shell_NotifyIcon(NIM_ADD) until the call eventually returns successfully. I'm not sure this work around will be sufficient since I don't know the real cause of the problem. Any suggestions are much appreciated, Kris
