Yes, just delete them.
See:
	BOOL   DeleteFile( filename );

I forget what the delete-to-recycle-bin function is called.

And, even doing it your way, I would think you would change the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER  instead of the secured HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
