PathCompactPath is system dependent and MinimizeName requires
the VCL. However, there is a 3rd option:

    ::DrawText( hDC, Path, strlen(Path), &R, DT_PATH_ELLIPSIS | DT_SINGLELINE | DT_MODIFYSTRING );
