Hm, the sample in the thread compiled with success
(in fact I had to include one header) but the code
doesn't work nor on XP nor on 98 ?!

On my XP it gave me some a short word (I think:  EVAL,
but not sure), on the other it returned all nuls, and on 98
raised an exception ?!

Maybe, I should look at the code more deeply.
