i found a better and much shorter solution:

__fastcall TMyApp::TMyApp(TComponent* Owner) : TForm(Owner)
{
  if(ParamCount() == 1)
  {
    RichEdit1->Lines->LoadFromFile(ParamStr(1)); // just grab the
fileparameter..
  }
}
