Hi, It's not quite all that simple. We have a service that wakes up every minute and scans a number of sub keys and values under our main key, looking for things to do. Every now and then, though not very often, it can't find the sub keys. If I try to open/rename/delete one of these sub keys using RegEdit, I get "Access denied". It seems that either stopping and restarting the service or rebooting the server clears the problem. There's no discernable pattern. Everything ran fine for a month or so and then yesterday, two servers had the problem. Using BCB5 and TRegistry objects if that's any help. Also, the service was running under a user account on one machine and LocalSystem on the other. Even thin hints would be appreciated. Don't suggest switching to Linux ;-) - Arnie
