Saying frankly,  I don't remember that  'complete answer with 2 lines of
code',
and  just because VCL does not support MS windowing 100%,  I had to create
my
own carret with all the properties it is suppose to have.  As for the
HideCaret
API call, NT environment is pretty stingy about any resource(s) and it may
return
the ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED error code with GetLastError. I wish you good luck
'cause
you'll need it - that's why there is no TCaret class in BCB v.<=3.
