Hello, I hope my question is send to the right newsgroup this time. To determine the Hardware-id of the storage media (harddisc and usb-storage) I use the Register information and this works fine. Now I'm looking for a way wich driveletter belongs to each storage medium. Maybe someone has an idea? Thank's a lot. Regards, Anton

I'm not quite sure if this is what you are after, but take a look at the Win32 calls: GetLogicalDrives() GetVolumeInformation() Don't know about "hardware id" though... Best regards, Ted Lyngmo

I'll try to explain: At this moment I have 1 harddisc in my Pc and 2 USB-memorysticks. Each of them has a unique hardware-id, which my program can find in the windows-register. Now I want to know what driveletters are used for the USB-sticks. Of course I can see this in windows explorer, but I want my program to make that combination. Thanks for your tip, I'll have a look at those Win32 calls The hardware-id is the unique number of each storage medium (harddisc and usb memorystick) Kind Regards, Anton "Ted Lyngmo" <tedREMOVETHIS@lyncon.se> schreef in bericht news:47016e72$1@newsgroups.borland.com... > Anton wrote: >> >> To determine the Hardware-id of the storage media (harddisc and >> usb-storage) I use the Register information and this works fine. >> >> Now I'm looking for a way wich driveletter belongs to each storage >> medium. > > I'm not quite sure if this is what you are after, but take a look at the > Win32 calls: > > GetLogicalDrives() > GetVolumeInformation() > > Don't know about "hardware id" though... > > Best regards, > Ted Lyngmo
