Can anyone tell me why:

SendMessage(ListBox1->Handle, LB_DIR, DDL_EXCLUSIVE | DDL_ARCHIVE, 
(LPARAM)"*.*");

Works and

ListBox1->Perform(LB_DIR, DDL_EXCLUSIVE | DDL_ARCHIVE, (LPARAM)"*.*");

Doesn't?
