I just did find out that with a second window using BorderStyle bsSingle I 
can do this (wsMaximized). It doesn't work on primary window (Form1) by some 
reason.

Try doing something like this:

    -------------------------
    HWND task_hwnd = ::FindWindow("Shell_traywnd", "");

    if (task_hwnd)
      {
      ::ShowWindow(task_hwnd, SW_HIDE);

    -------------------------

And at program end when you are restoring things

    -------------------------
      ::ShowWindow(task_hwnd, SW_SHOW);
    -------------------------

Wrote an error: BorderStyle shall be bsNone, nothing else!
