Hi, I am using the TMediaPlayer object in order to perform recording and playing functions. Is there a way to programmatically control the volume level during play function? In addition to that I need to modify the recording parameters, in particular I need to change the sampling speed from default to 8000Hz, 8 Bit; is there a simple way to achieve that? Can anybody provide me with a piece of code? Thanks in advance. Henry

The simpliest way is the waveOutSetVolume() function, but that is a general purpose volume control for the entire system, not specific playbacks. > In addition to that I need to modify the recording parameters, > in particular I need to change the sampling speed from default > to 8000Hz, 8 Bit; is there a simple way to achieve that? What you ask for cannot be done with TMediaPlayer. You would have to drop down to a lower-level and use the Multimedia API directly, handling the recording/playback buffers and codec setups and such yourself. There is a whole section in the Win32 API documentation on working with multimedia, you might consider having a look at it. Gambit
