DLLs created by BCB5 & BCB6

Hi All,

I used to use BCB5 to create a DLL to be statically linked by Layhey Fortran
with no problem at all. However, If I create a DLL from BCB6 using the same
source code, I could not generate (via implib) a *.lib file which can be
linked by the Fortran. It gives me an error message:

Fatal error LINK.2130: Bad object file -- Improper record length in
"TestDll.lib".

Is there any one who can know why is this error and how I can rectify the
problem? I noticed that implib has not been changed from bcb5 to bcb6.

Thannks, Binzhong

It seems that you need Microsoft lib-file but it is another
thing than Borland lib.

Vladimir.

Thanks, Vladimir, for your suggestion. How can I create Microsoft lib-file
using BCB6 or via implib? The problem is that if I create the TestDll.DLL
using BCB5 then using

    implib TESTDLL.LIB TESTDLL.DLL

to create TESTDLL.LIB which can be linked by Layhey Fortran compiler. But If
I create the TESTDLL.DLL using BCB6. The TESTDLL.LIB created by implib would
not be linked by Layhey Fortran compiler any more. I suspect that BCB6 will
create different DLL compared with BCB5.

Any other suggestions?

Regards, Binzhong

But it means that you did all correctly. And you need
Borland's lib file. So you only can compare keys for
both programs and if they the same to send your question
in Borland support or BDN Quality Central.

Vladimir.
