How to control cursor position OR modern equivalent of ANSI.SYS?

Hello out there, I want to simulate a multi-line character display (used in an embedded device) with a console mode program. For this to work I need commands to control the cursor position on the screen. Under DOS one would load ANSI.SYS and then use the appropriate escape sequences. Any info on how to achieve this will be greatly appreciated. Best regards Helmut Giese

Hi Alex >And CRT32.pas in JCL library ( http://jcl.sourceforge.net/daily/ ) >(good example ... in Pascal :-). while I usually don't care if examples are in Pascal or C (after all, for this kind of question the pure know-how is what matters most), I am by now fine with the console oriented functions you pointed me to. One thing irks me a bit, though: Under certain circumstances I would like to turn the cursor off - but the logical candidate (SetCursor) didn't achieve the proper result. Maybe you got another idea? Best regards Helmut Giese

Thanks for the offer and best regards Helmut Giese
