how to convert 8.3 path to longPath
#3117

Hi all,
Please, there is someone who can tell me how obtain the long path for a
specific file. Example:

c:\program~1\test.txt    (8.3 format)
in
c:\program files\test.txt   (extended format)

I have tried with "::GetFullPathName" but work only on file name. But, I
would want to convert also the folders.

I have tried also with "::GetFirstFile" but I don't know how to obtain the
folders.

Thanks in advance.
Bye

what about writing it yourself through the usage of
findfirst-findnext-findclose?
anyway if you want you can take a look at the code of GetFullPath which is
fully written down in one of the headers of builder and modify it

Try ::GetLongPathName()
