Hi all, I need to write a simple application that send a message through Ethernet and get response, I have no idea how to start this, I only know how to communicate using Rs-232, my computer is connected to a local network, can I use this connection for my Ethernet tests? what should I install? where can I find a clear example that shows me how to init the Ethernet, how to send and how to recieve? Thanks, Ori.

That is handled by Sockets. In Windows, this is known as WinSock (winsock2.h) http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/winsock/winsock/about_winsock.asp http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/winsock/winsock/winsock_reference.asp Depending on your compiler version, you could use 3rd party libs like ICS or INDY9.50 (snapshot). http://www.indyproject.org/ Issues on these items are the topic of borland.cppbuilder.internet.socket See you there.

Thanks very much :-) I posted a question in the "borland.cppbuilder.internet.socket" newsgroup, see you there. Ori
