Hi all I have been looking all over for this, basically I have an application that works via a network connection, except sometimes the application gets installed on PCs where the O/S settings for the NIC says, that it will power DOWN the NIC card to save power. How can I detect this setting (and maybe change it).

Looks like IOCTL() with IOCTL_POWER_CAPABILITIES But the docs on that were for CE. Might look at SetThreadExecutionState() http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/power/base/setthreadexecutionstate.asp Also, this looks promising....Power Profile Functions http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/power/base/power_profile_functions.asp?frame=true
