Hi everybody, I'm working with BCB3, my PC runs with Windows XP (home edition) I would like to programmatically create a shortcut to C:\windows\System32\command.com (is it a PIF file ?) and I'd like to be able to check the boxes "use HMA" or "Protected" in the memory tabsheet. I think I should use CoIninialize and then CoCreateInstance, but I don't know exactly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Michel.

The PIF format is not documented by Microsoft, and there are no API
functions or objects available to work with PIF files programmably (well,
actually there are, but they are too limited in functionality for what you
are asking for).
You can find third-party documentation on the PIF format here:
http://lu0s1.3322.org/SPEC/PifFormat.htm
With that, you can create .pif files manually. The "WINDOWS 386 3.0"
section contains the two values you are asking for.
