I have 16x16 and 32x32 icons set up in my programs resource file under MAINICON. I have the res file added to the project. But unless I add the line (#pragma resourse "Program.res") it will not set the program icon. And if I have this line in the project.cpp file it works fine for win2k, xp etc.. but fails to show the correct icon on the taskbar for windows 98 or 95, it only shows the default borland buildings. What can cause this problem? Another programmer doesn't ever need the pragma line and his application icons work fine on all the systems. We both have looked into why my application may have problems but can't see anything out of the ordinary. any help is appreciated thanks Shannon

OK after a bit of hacking I found out that some of my own home built components res files had the MAINICON set to the blue borland buildings. After going into each of these components res files and removing the MAINICON icon and relinked my application. I no longer need the pragma line and the icons work like they should. I now have another issue. If I open up one of those other home built components it inserts the MAINICON back into the res file. Is there a way to surpress that from happening besides setting the res file to read only? Because if I set it as read only borland displays an error saying had a problem writting to res file when closing. Gets kinda annoying. thanks for any help Shannon Shannon Peterson wrote: > I have 16x16 and 32x32 icons set up in my programs resource file under > MAINICON. I have the res file added to the project.
