Patrick, Our team just upgraded to BCB 4.0 from BCB 3.0 . Here is a step by step of what we did. Uninstalled BCB 3.0 Uninstalled BDE (make sure you make a backup of .CFG file) Unsinstalled Infopower (3rd Party) Removed any directories and stuff in then Installed BCB 4.0 Installed BCB 4.0 patch Installed BDE 5.1 upgrade. Merged old .CFG into new .CFG (this was great - see merge utility) Installed Infopower Upgrade. (Infopower only - in a text editor change references to info power 3 to 4) Now Open BCB 4.0, Open your Project, (BCB 4.0 automatically converts your project) Convert and Run We didn't have any problems except with QuickReports. The new version of quickreports has a bug that causes an access violation in view mode after 4-8 accesses. If they don't come up with an update we may have to convert to Crystal. The whole conversion took about 1.5 hours on my PC, less on subsequent developers PC's. It really went smooth. It took a little time to get used to the newer IDE. All in all about the easiest and safest upgrade conversion I've been through in years. Good Luck on yours Patrick wrote: > Dear builder list, > > I am in a real fix!
