upgrade to RAD 2007?

We use BDS2006 mostly with the C++ personality, though we use two
Delphi-based third party tools that we have modified and maintain --- so we
need the full package.

I note that update 3 is available for RAD 2007, and am wondering if we
should upgrade.

Disregarding the cost, can any of the folks in this group who have migrated
from BDS2006, or earlier, to RAD 2007 offer some observations in this
regard?

Thanks in advance.

might give you the perspective of some of the delphi people.

It also seems to answer my question (correctly or not, uncertain) as to
whether any add'l fixes are to be expected for bds2006.

thanks for the link -- it helped

Our assumption is that BDS2006 is a lame duck.

Hopefully the quirky IDE and horrendous help system is improved in RAD2007.

There is a radstudio2007 trial - you may want to try it before you spend
money on upgrades - the license supposedly lasts for 30 days.

I am currently in the process of evaluating it myself (about 5 days now),
but have not yet drawn any conclusions. I have at least not been forced to
abandon it as quickly as I did cb2007 trial.
