ResourcePool NotSupported on NT4

Hello,
I have an application that runs well on WindowsXP but will not load on NT4.
Trying to start it only results in the message
"System.PlatformNotSupportedException: 'ResourcePool' is not supported on
the current platform at System.EnterpriseServices.Platform.Assert(....."!

Does anyone know how to correct for this error?  ServicePack 6a is running
on the NT-machine and we are running the same version of the .net framework
on both platforms.
