after installing D2005, the strg-space does not work any more. Instead, I get a "Element not Fount". Is there a way to make c#Builder and D2005 coexist peacefully? Regards, Bengt

Yes, I hadn't thought of that reason. I haven't seen the license for the Personal version but with previous versions you have not been able to sell. I am not sure what the issue is. I ran them side by side (D2005 architect and C# Builder) for a while without any problems. -- Marc Rohloff [TeamB] marc rohloff -at- myrealbox -dot- com

Sorry, strg is the german version of ctrl :-)
I think it is called "Class insight", but I am not sure. Or "Code complete"?
say you have a class defined
public class aa
{
public aa()
{
}
public baa()
{
}
}
and in the editor you type
a
and press ctrl space you get a window which shows you all available
classes which begin with the letter a, including the aa one. You select
from that list and press Enter, and the correct name of the class is
copied into the editor. The same goes for methods and fields.

I don't see that a multiple install should affect this but you could try reinstalling c# builder. You've enabled it in the options screen, right? -- Marc Rohloff [TeamB] marc rohloff -at- myrealbox -dot- com

And if I deinstall D2005, I get the functionallity back in c#builder. Therefore, it seems to me that c#builder and d2005 are stepping on each others feet. I am hesitant to resinstall c#builder, as i also have Delphi 8 on the machine. I read somewhere else that you should install c#builder before Delphi 8. So if I take the plunge, I would have to reinstall c#builder and also Delphi 8. :-( Any other ideas?

As I have a SKU of c#builder which includes ECO, I was at that point surpriced to see my previously in c#builder installed 3rd Party components also present in D2005 PE. The same goes for the Borland Database components (which I do not think should be part of the PE). But ECO was not there, so apparently ECO is extra protected. Anyway appart from "Code completion" there seem to be many other issues of D2005 PE (the c# part) which steps on the feet (or toes) of c#builder. So, back to my original question: can these issues be resolved, so that I can run D2005 and c#builder side by side without interference? -Bengt

I don't know. Maybe you should try asking this in the delphi.install group. -- Marc Rohloff [TeamB] marc rohloff -at- myrealbox -dot- com
