Despite the superficial similarity of the pinned windows, the two are very different in many ways, and a long-time Delphi user will keep hitting his head against the wall of Not The Way Delphi Does It. But, if you give it a fair try, and get to the point where routine tasks are as familiar in VS as in BDS, I think you'll find that VS is quite nice, and packed with useful features - many of which can't really be described as "little". For me, the big two are the autoformatter and the tool tips that pick up your (XML structured) comments on your own code. But there are others, like the little navigation dropdowns in code edit windows; the really nice window splitting code, and the tab dragging code; macros that persist span sessions. VS.2005 has rock-solid code to write interface implementation stubs, which takes all the annoying drudge work out of implementing and interface. What I find telling is that many people who reluctantly started using VS while they waited for D8 haven't come back. -- programmer, author http://www.midnightbeach.com and father http://www.midnightbeach.com/hs
