Hi Kurt,

I assume you have already created the form you want to inherit from. If so,
select the project file and then select File, New, Other. This will bring
up the New Items dialog. In the Item Categories, select C# Projects,
Inheritable Forms. All forms that you can inherit appear in the list.
Select a form and press OK.

If you open the code for the new form, you'll see what is actually
happening. You should see something similar to this:

...
public class WinForm1 : Project27.WinForm
{
...

Project27.WinForm is the fully qualified name of the existing form and
WinForm1 is the name of the new inherited form created by the wizard. This
illustrates that a form is an object, just like any other object, and you
get visual forms inheritance by inheriting the form you want.

Hey Joe,

I say that already, unfor. sometimes the item "Inheritable Forms" appears,
sometimes not..
Is there a special setting that as to be done to make a form "Inheritable"
in C#builder????
Or is it a bug???

Regards,
Kurt

If you right-click on the project and select Options, Application you'll be
able to see the Application Type.

If you started the project as a Console project, you won't see the
Inheritable Forms option. After you add a new form, you still won't see it.
However, once you compile the application and it has at least one form,
subsequent wizard invocations will show the Inheritable Forms option.

I'm using C#Builder Architect and haven't noticed any strange bugs in that
particular area.

Thanks a lot....
It's true, compile the thing, and it will work... thanks again.
If you don't know that, you can search for hours...
(Thats a little bit difference of Delphi :-))

Regards,
Kurt
