Incremental searching in C#...

All,

I have a form with a text box on it, a grid, and some other controls. I
want to be able to incrementally search the underlying dataset as the
user types into the text box. I can't seem to find anything in the
online help or the "auto-completion" that fits the bill.

Any help appreciated.

Mike

You are pretty much going to have to roll your own by handling the
change event of the edit control.

It seems that ADO.Net's Find method will not do partial matches. I was
able to do partial matches with Delphi/ADO, so is it that Delphi
extended ADO to accommodate partial matches or is it that ADO.Net hasn't
gotten around to implementing partial match Finds yet?

Thanks for your response.

ADO and ADO.NET have very little in common so I am not surprised that
they don't have the same functionality.

If you are using a ComboBox then use its FindString function. If you
have to use the datatable then you will probably have to scan it
manually.
