Accessing underlying data displayed in grid

I have a grid displaying the records of a table. When one or more records
are highlighted and the Update button is pressed I need to access the
database objects as I need to remove an association (if it exists). How can
I map the DataRow objects of the grid to the underlying database objects
they are displaying.
