Hi,

I get an error when i try to connect to a mdb when using the
AccessDataSource component.

The errors are :

"The file '~/BioData.mdb' either does not exist or could not be mapped to a
local file that could be read."
when using root or path relative.

or

"Database schema could not be retrieved for this connection. Please make
sure the connection settings are correct and that the database is online.

No metadata could be loaded for: MS Jet."

When slecting user specify.

Can someone please shed some light on this matter.

Regards
Shaun Peusschers

Hi Shaun,

I think ~ should be mapped to the root of your project directory at
runtime. If the mdb is there and the connection can't be opened then I
guess it isn't supported at designtime.

The data explorer needs meta data support to be able to see database
schema information and I don't believe ms jet is supported. That would
be why you get "No metadata could be loaded for: MS Jet.""

Cheers,
John
