.Net v1.1, BDP 2.5 Im trying to use the RepeatableRead transaction isolation level with an Oracle db. It doesnt seem to work right. If I select a row inside my transaction, another user should not be able to update that row until I end the transaction, right? But this isn't the case. Is this a 'feature' of Oracle, or BDP problem? thx

...nvrmind, I think this is a feature of Oracle. I can use SELECT FOR UPDATE to get the effect I want. John, I THINK if you specify transactionisolationlevel of Serializable, you would also get what you want. Exactly how to do that, I don't know, but I think you can. I think you specify it in the connection string and that will override any other specification of isolationlevel, but I'm not sure. I haven't tracked that down myself yet... But with our products, that is what I did in the ADO/VCL world.
