I went to the Sybase site and they seem to have a developer edition called 
iAnywhere.  Is this the same as Sybase database?  Is the latest one?  Does 
it work with Sybase?  Does it work with Eco?

Sybase have two (or even more) distinct databases...
ASE - The enterprise version
ASA - aka SQLAnywhere
