dataview refresh?

 From D7 I remember table.refresh and query.requery or similar. I can't, 
however, find anything like that in D2005. My problem is that I have a 
datagrid that draws data from a dataview containing data as follows:
SELECT *, CONVERT(CHAR(5),fld_hours,8) as Stunden FROM tbl_course'
and when I add a new row to tbl_course, the converted field is not being 
displayed in the datagrid right away (all the other data is being 
displayed correctly though). I have to restart the application in order 
to see the row including the converted field.

How do I get the converted field displayed immediately?
