Hi , I have BDS Ent 2006 , try to use the BdpConnection for the mysql 5.0 , successfully created a myconnection in the Bdpconnection and test connected successfully. then i drop the BdpCommand , right click open up command text editor , select the drop down combobox for the connection , it then display "Unsupported datatype" , why ? Any idea as I tried the Interbase or Firebird Connections with no such problem ? but is it BDPConnection cannot work with the Mysql5.0 ? I have also downloaded the mysql.net connector from mysql web site, and registered the connector for delphi , I can see the component appear in the generate tab as MySqlCommand , MySqlConnection and MySqlDataAdapter ,has anyone have successfully use that for BDS2006 ? I have also tried to look for the TAdoconnection for the ADO.net connection but i cannot find , is there any such TADOConnection in the BDS2006.net (not win32) ? Please help , as i am trying to get connected with my MySQL database , i can't even connect this , with 10 over years of delphi experiences since Delphi 1.0 , i really feel discourage ... what went wrong with my experiences ... any help is much appreciated. Thanks. Regds, Kal

Hi kalmen,
> I have BDS Ent 2006 , try to use the BdpConnection for the mysql 5.0
Please note that BDP in Delphi 2006 only supports MySQL version 4.0.24,
and version 5.0 is officially not supported (hence probably your
problems)...
See CoreLab (www.crlab.com) for a third-party driver that can connect
with MySQL 5.0.
