Delphi 6 and web service

I am maintaining a large Delphi 6 app. I ma being asked to
interface to a web service. Early stages yet but which is the
best way to go about this? I believe D6 enterprise has web
service facilities but have they been superceded by more recent
better tools?

I am happy to upgrade Delphi but only if I can keep backwards
compatibility with my VCL code.

Delphi 2006 offers a better implementation - and more work in being done
(made available for Delphi 2006 as well, or so I've been lead to
believe), check the .soap newsgroup for details.

You mean you want your code to compile with Delphi 6 even if made with
Delphi 2006? Of you want to compile your existing Delphi 6 application
with Delphi 2006? Both is possible, although backwards compatibility may
mean you have to eliminate some properties. I must admit I never tried
to load a Delphi 2006 form back into 6...

Thanks Bob,

Yes I was only requiring 2006 to run my D6 app. But also if it was
necessary to upgrade in order to 'consume' web services.
