I plan to build an isapi dll for use in one of our websites. The dll will produce a result with a handful of values of various types, so my thought is to make an xml string to pass back to the caller. However, I'm not finding documentation for D7 Pro XML units, and the discussions on this forum seem to imply that there is a steep learning curve for what I want to do. Shouldn't this be pretty simple? Where do I find the help file alluded to elsewhere on the forum? Jeremy

I am developing something similar. Using XMLSpy to create the various schemas and Delphi to create the supporting classes (XML Databinding Wizard), passing the various 'objects' around has been disgustingly simple. Good luck, krf "Jeremy" <jeremy-nospam@ninprodata.com> wrote in message news:485e6f08$1@newsgroups.borland.com... >I plan to build an isapi dll for use in one of our websites. So, Kevin, where did you find out how to do this? Is this wizard an enterprise item? I'm not finding it in pro. Also not finding a help file. Sorry, I didn't notice you were using D7 pro. Someone jump in and correct me, but I don't think it has the XML Databinding Wizard. krf "Jeremy" <jeremy-nospam@ninprodata.com> wrote in message news:48612ab7$1@newsgroups.borland.com... > So, Kevin, where did you find out how to do this? I'm not sure about D7 Pro either but if it does exist then look for it in object repository (File->New). D2007 Pro for sure has it (File->New->Other->XML->XML data binding) but for D6/D7 it might have been Enterprise feature. If you are looking for a light-weight solution, JSON (JavaScript Object Notation, however there is no Javascript required) might be also interesting. There are two open source Delphi libraries on sourceforge.net which can be used with Delphi 7. The JSON object serialization has very low overhead, is human readable, and can be used with many programming languages and platforms.
